Common Knowledge is a Vancouver-based production company producing genre films that explore identity, reality, and society through metaphor-driven storytelling. The company develops and produces original feature films while also providing production services for independent and international productions, including budgeting, tax credit strategy, corporate oversight, and production execution through post-production.

The company is currently packaging HOW DARE YOU, a satirical horror feature from Kit & Arran and a Canada-UK co-production supported by Telefilm Canada. Common Knowledge is also developing JANE DOE, a science fiction drama, and PROVINCIAL WAYS, a contemporary adaptation of Madame Bovary.

Recent feature WITH LOVE AND A MAJOR ORGAN was released theatrically in the US and UK by Utopia-affiliated Circle Collective following a festival run spanning more than 30 festivals including SXSW and Fantasia, where it received multiple festival awards.

Founded in 2019 by Madeleine Davis, Common Knowledge combines creative development with deep expertise in physical production, production accounting, and business affairs. Madeleine is an alumna of the IFFR Talent Lab. She has worked as an independent producer on features including BROKEN ENGLISH, selected for Venice and Sundance, 100 SUNSET, which premiered at TIFF, and FREAKS, which screened at TIFF, Sitges, and Fantasia. She  holds a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from UBC.
